Food Trip épisode 41 : BAO CAFE

Étant à la recherche de mon magazine source d’inspiration le BAAB, et n’ayant le temps que le samedi je me suis rendue à défaut du siège de la structure au Bao Café. Ce déplacement m’a permis de réécrire sur cet endroit en découvrant un nouveau cocktail et leur portion de frite. Et en redécouvrant les nuggets de poulets et les accras de poisson.

Déjà côté atmosphère, le Bao fait assez intimiste. J’aime bien ses sièges qui se trouvent le long de la baie vitrée. Je m’assois toujours de ce côté. J’aime aussi son bar que je trouve assez spacieux. Bref, c’est un bel endroit pour qui veut sortir avec ses amies et passer de bons moments surtout qu’on y propose de jouer au Bao. Étant solitaire je n’ai pas encore eu l’occasion de profiter de ce jeu, mais on verra.

Passons à mon domaine de prédilections le côté food. Le cocktail choisi cette fois-ci est le diabolo menthe. Pourquoi ? Je dirais que j’ai eu une nostalgie subite de ce breuvage découvert au café de cap-sud (pas le café actuel, mais le tout le premier) situé juste à l’entrée à gauche. Un mot qualifiait leur diabolo menthe : peps. Il était composé de Sprite et d’une quantité indécente de sirop de grenadine. À l’époque grosse gourmande (Lool je crois que je n’ai pas changé) j’adorais l’excès de sucre et le côté agressif des bulles de gaz pétillantes.

Parlons du diabolo menthe du Bao Café. Ce dernier est différent.

Déjà on a une eau gazeuse ultra légère ce qui est pour moi qui ai la colopathie aujourd’hui une très bonne chose. Il y a une juste dose de sucre ce qui est merveilleux, donc on se retrouve avec un diabolo menthe qui pourrait être rebaptisé diablotin menthe. Pour des personnes responsables, c’est l’idéal et j’approuve même si avant, je me serais offusquée.

Les nuggets de poulet n’ont pas changé d’un iota. Donc, ils sont toujours aussi bons. Surtout avec la sauce tomate.

La portion de frite est délicieuse, faite avec de vraies pommes de terre, pas trop grasses, un délice, je me suis surprise à me lécher les doigts (au grand désarroi de mon voisin).

Les accras de poisson étaient gras cette fois-ci. Je ne sais pas pourquoi ? Ils étaient bons certes, mais gras. L’huile a noyé le goût de la sauce spéciale accra qui en est devenue fade.

À part l’huile des accras donc, tout était parfait et j’ai eu mon BAAB donc tout est bien qui finit bien.

Le Bao Cafe se trouve sur la route de l’école de gendarmerie au carrefour à droite avant l’école pour ceux qui viennent du plateau et à gauche après l’école pour ceux qui viennent de la Riviera. Il est ouvert du lundi au samedi de 9 h à minuit (si je ne me trompe pas).

Les groupes d’amis, les sorties en couplent, les apéritifs et mises en jambes

Quel budget ?

Pour les gourmands comme moi, il faut au moins 10000 FCFA par personne et pour les petits estomacs 5000 FCFA

Being in search of my inspiration BAAB magazine, and having the time on Saturday I went to the headquarters of the default structure Bao Café. This move allowed me to rewrite this place by discovering a new cocktail and serving fried. And rediscovering the chicken nuggets and fish fritters.

Already atmosphere hand, Bao actually quite intimate. I like the seats that are located along the bay window. I always sit on this side. I also like the bar that I find quite spacious. In short, it is a beautiful place for who wants to go out with her friends and have a good time especially that it offers to play Bao. Being lonely I have not yet had the opportunity to enjoy this game, but we’ll see.

Let’s go to my domain predilections the food side. The cocktail chosen this time is the mint diabolo. Why? I would say that I had a sudden nostalgia for the drink discovered coffee Cape south (not the current coffee, but the whole first) located at the entrance to the left. One word termed their mint diabolo: peps. It was composed of Sprite and an indecent amount of grenadine syrup. At the big greedy era (Lool I think I have not changed) I loved the excess sugar and aggressive side fizzy gas bubbles.

Let’s talk about Bao Café mint diabolo. This is different.

Already it has an ultra light sparkling water which is I who colopathy today a very good thing. There is a fair amount of sugar which is wonderful, so we are left with a mint diabolo which could be renamed Imp mint. For those responsible, this is the ideal and I agree although before, I would have offended.

Chicken nuggets have not changed one iota. So they are always so good. Especially with tomato sauce.

The portion of fries is delicious, made with real potatoes, not too greasy, delicious, I found myself licking my fingers (to the dismay of my neighbor).

Fish fritters were fat this time. I do not know why? They were good indeed, but bold. Oil has drowned the taste of that special sauce Accra has become bland.

Aside from oil fritters therefore, everything was perfect and I had my BAAB so all’s well that ends well.

Bao Le Cafe is located on the road to the gendarmerie training school at the crossroads right before school for those who come from the board and left after school to those who come from the Riviera. It is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to midnight (if I’m not mistaken).

Groups of friends, outings couple, appetizers and implemented legs

 What budget?

For food lovers like me, it takes at least 10,000 FCFA per person for small stomachs 5000 FCFA
